ADUPS
The First African Training Software for Oil and Gas
It is imperative for national and international oil companies to bring the junior staff “up to speed” as efficiently as possible.
New generations entering and leaving universities are more diverse than the previous generations, especially in developing and emerging nations. They have different – some radically different – interests and come from more varied economic and socio-political status.
This will impact how the industry gets prepare to educate, engage and keep this generation for the long term. The Upstream Industry must engage them—or it risks missing out to other more engaging industries. However, the next generation will not respond to classical recruiting and training methods. It uses networks—both social and professional-, it uses video games and is accustomed to virtual environment.
ADUPS is overcoming these challenges .
ADUPS is a software-based oil and gas simulation specifically designed for training purpose. ADUPS training will reduce the risks involved in recruiting and improve awareness on how large teams interact to develop successful and productive oil and gas fields. ADUPS is one of the first technical software for Upstream developed in subsaharan Africa
It covers the workflows involved in upstream from the acquisition of acreage to the decommissioning of a field. It simulates the geological, geopolitical, engineering, environmental, logistic and financial risks and decision processes involved in upstream operations. ADUPS will familiarize the participants to the basic concepts of upstream, from exploration to production through drilling, development and petroleum economics.
ADUPS is not here to challenge the geological, reservoir engineering or production expertise of the participants. Rather it will give an overview of all disciplines involves in upstream, how each is connected to the other so that large teams can be more aware on how to work together effectively at a lower cost of risk.
